Discussion Guide, Key Quotes, and Summaries of Shahab Ahmed's What Is Islam? (2016)

From a Graduate-Led Seminar in the Spring of 2016

These are a collection of discussion guides, with key quotes, references, and summaries, for each chapter of Shahab Ahmed's What is Islam? The Importance of Being Islamic. They were crafted during the Spring of 2016, just after its publication, as the basis of a graduate-led seminar on Ahmed's book, which I co-led and -organized. They appear here in their unedited format, as they were made in 2016, so please forgive typos, errors, and misinterpretations attributed to the less learned times of youth. Errors are all my own and not my co-organizer's.
